Piano moving

Do any of y'all have experience moving a piano. Mine is still is Dallas and I am anxious to move it here. Our current plan is to put it in the back of my husbands truck. Of course this is the ideal way. However I hate to pay someone to move one item, it could be very expensive.
Any ideas or critical reasons we should not put it in our truck?
Know any piano tuners?

I'm sure Donnis would know a piano tuner. I have no idea about if it would hurt it to move it. If it were me I would move it in the back of a truck (just padded really well with blankets, etc.)
My mom has always had hers professionally moved....many times the price includes several tunings because it takes a while to get things locked back in. If you do a pickup, I would use tons of padding....bumping around is going to shove it way out of tune. (But if it has been out of tune for a while, this may not be an issue. Donnis would be a good resource...you could also ask the churches...they usually have contracts with folks. Perhaps a company out of Tyler would service both the Dallas and Marshall area??? I'm excited that you have a pie-nanner! We'll have to play a duet someday.
Maybe we will just move it in the back of our truck. Either way we will have to have it tuned. My aunt and uncle have kept it in tune but I'm sure the move professional or not will change that!
