Hi there, and Hello

I just needed to stop by and say "hey" to my MOPS buddies. It's Saturday evening. I've finished the girls' baths. They are sitting with wet hair watching "Cars" for the 3rd time in two days....well, not the wee bitty one, she is having her "just-before-the-real-thing" late evening nap. The boys are in charge of their own cleanliness, Praise the Lord. I still need to finish cleaning the kitchen from our dinner celebration: Luke harvested his buck today! Philip and Landen have reached their limit, so this will conclude the Johnson Hunting Season 2006!!!!! I think I'm gonna "hunt" for the rest of the season....I can get up at 5am each Saturday morning, sneak out of the house and stay gone until the afternoon. What shall I hunt for? Christmas presents, perhaps. Peace of mind, I think. Muffins and coffee? Hi-ho, the merri-o, a-huntin' I will go!

Cari,
That's hillarious that you're going to take up "hunting!" Thankfully Chuck doesn't really hunt regularly, but he does train our labs for retrieving competitions almost daily. I often ask him when I get to go "train the dogs." He of course just tells me that me and Annabelle are welcome to come help him :) Good luck with your "hunting season!"

Funny! I would love to go hunting with you. Rex harvested one Saturday and the rest of the day and into Sunday was spend on that animal. So, after we harvest our find we have to spend hours "doing something else with it". Also, that is not something we can have help with, so the children will need to be watched again for hours. My boys have not even learned how to harvest yet, but growing up with a Dad and brother who did, I am used to it. Also, remember to comment on how "huge" it is - that is the animal! SOunds like we are going hunting soon!

Sara,
How many labs do you have? What color? Where do they compete?

Hey Trish,
We have 2 black lab females (Wendy & Cali). Only Wendy is old enough to compete right now, but Cali starts in the Spring. Anyways, their competitions are held nation-wide, but Chuck just goes to the ones in our area (TX, LA, AR, OK).
